Beers Of The Beano - Thursday 22 February 2024

The Malcolm Uphill, Caerphilly (Wetherspoons). It used to be that when it opened in the morning at 08:00, the bar would be open. Then there was a new manager and the local licensing committee change it to 09:00, not that there was a trouble at 08:00 it’s just local politicians being seen to do things.

There’s a poster for the upcoming Spring Beer Festival just in the corner by the entrance. It’s #CurryThursday day and it seems to be calling me.

The review

Nelson’s Revenge - Woodforde Brewery - 4.5% ABV. B+ and a bit, overwhelming bittersweet with a hint of malt to start. Gentle slightly fruity and bitter finish #ale #beer #bier

3.3/5. In The Malcolm Uphill, Caerphilly where the rain isn’t quite as bad as yesterday. Maybe a #CurryThursday?

The review

Gold - Rhymney Brewery - 4.2% ABV. B+, more amber than gold. Malty and a little sweet with a lingering slightly fruity and bitter finish. Session Ale #ale #beer #bier

I didn’t quite manage a Curry as I was still surprisingly full from breakfast. Still #mb03 in Hereford starts tomorrow. With me back in The Hereford Beer House on Saturday. Good times in a poor month.
