Beers Of The Beano - Saturday 20 September 2025
Managed to get a Lidl Oktoberfest Festbier pack on the second attempt. So spent the day happily going through the first five. Decent if not great however, I love the malty taste. Here are the videos and reviews.
Prelude first
Grantler Festmärzen - Schlossbrauerei Herrngiersdorf - 5.6% ABV. B+ and a bit, malty and fruity on the nose. Fruity, sweet malt in the body with a gently hoppy finish #ale #beer #bier
3.3/5 - The start of Bedwas Oktoberfest 2025 provisioned by Lidl’s Oktoberfest Pack via Kalea.com 🍻 🇩🇪 Going to be a quality day.
Pichelsteiner Festbier - Falter - 5.9% ABV. B+ and a bit. Malty aroma. Malty and spicy. Spicy, hoppy and gently fruity in the finish. #ale #beer #bier
3.3/5. Didn’t rate this on Untappd last year. As Festbiers go this is very different. However, the difference is well worth a try.
Festbier - Wieninger - 5.8% ABV. B+ and a bit. Germanic malty, hoppy aroma. Well balanced malty, hoppy fruity body and hints of bread. Fruity and gently bitter finish #ale #beer #bier
3.3/5. So I’m on my third Lidl Oktoberfest brew and they are all gentle, malty and interesting brews. Doing Oktoberfest but doing it quietly.
Märzen Festbier - Hohenthanner Schlossbrauerei 5.6% ABV. B++, Big malty aroma with a a solid malty body. Gentle hoppy, fruity and bitter finish #ale #beer #bier
3.5/5. Dark and malty and drinking well (as we say in the UK). Fair Play to 🇩🇪
Festbier - Privatbrauerei Ettl - 5.6% ABV. B++. Balanced hoppy malty nose. Balanced bitter, hoppy and malty body. Lingering fruity bitter finish #ale #beer #bier
3.5/5. Festbiers, Happy Biers. Gently sleepy with still another 5 biers to go. And this is only the start of Oktoberfest.
And the wrap up
